Folklore returns to Hopscotch for another intimate evening of contemporary folk, atmospheric songwriting and left-field sounds.

Bojockey are a London outfit formed in 2022, already earning attention from Matt Wilkinson (Apple Music), BBC Radio 1, The Independent and Richard Thompson, who described them as a band that “doesn’t sound like anyone else”.

Their self-titled debut album, released via Tiny Pocket in 2023, was followed by sold-out shows at Brixton’s Windmill and St Pancras Old Church. Their music has a distinctive, immersive quality — distinctly homely and ambient, shifting between high and low.

Joining them are Lex Vervain, bringing their own atmospheric take on contemporary songwriting, and Rebecca Harrington, opening the evening with beautifully crafted songs.
An intimate night of great music in the heart of Crystal Palace.

Advance booking recommended.

London outfit Bojockey are the perfect accompaniment to darkening nights. Starting as a band in 2022, the group have already gained recognition from Matt Wilkinson (Apple Music), BBC Radio 1, The Independent and Richard Thompson saying the band “doesn’t sound like anyone else”.

Having released their self-titled debut album (via Tiny Pocket) in October 2023, they followed the release with sold out shows at Brixton’s Windmill and St Pancras Old Church. The group has developed a special sound: distinctly homely and ambient, high and low.

Lex Vervain

Website

Lex Vervain, new-town troubadour, singer, songwriter and guitarist operates
out of SE London. His music is in tune with the Elliott Smith/ Alex G alt camp,
sharp words and serious tunes, songs that come from a small world caught up
in the metropolis. Loves and fallouts, anger and shame, coffee cups and busted
records, stories that are Townes tender and troubled.

Lex moved up to London from Crawley new town some seven years ago and
has been making music in the city ever since. He currently plays keys in Ellie
Bleach’s band and previously did the same in Tenderhost. Active in the bustling
South London indie scene he often gigs with Luce Rushton (Sad Club Records)
and has also featured in Alice Western’s Glass Eel (Memorials Of Distinction
Records).

He put out his debut, self-titled EP in June 2025 which he recorded with Joseph
Futak (Lilo, Tapir, Baggio Band, Luce Rushton…) featuring the pacy, heist caper
‘Made In Heaven’, the steamy lo-fi ‘Favourite Song’ and that punchy screen-2

age break-up song, ‘Digital Sink’. The release picked up air play and live radio
sessions (Tom Raine/Radio Boogaloo, Slack City, Soho Radio) and got plenty of
people talking:

‘Lex Vervain’ is a wonderful listen. An EP that can be played forever and you’d
never grow tired of. Dead Good Music

The new Lex Vervain EP will release in Autumn 2026. He put out a taster of this
upcoming music in the shape of ‘New Weight’ in February, produced at RAK
studios with Alice Western (Glass Eel).

Rebecca Herrington

A vocalist, songwriter and backing vocalist, Rebecca Herrington has been performing and releasing music since 2018 across a range of projects, primarily as the frontwoman of her soft alt rock band, LADY. Her voice has featured on BBC Radio 1’s BBC Music Introducing with Gemma Bradley, BBC Radio 2’s The Jazz Show with Jamie Cullum, and BBC Music Introducing Leeds with Emily Pilbeam.

Rebecca is now focusing on a solo endeavour, inspired by a collection of songs written during a personally isolating time. Embracing stripped-back acoustic arrangements and intimate live performances, her evocative music is defined by intricate fingerpicked guitar, delicate melodies, and introspective, sincere lyrics.
