Scottish indie-folk songwriter Adam Ross performs at Green Note on 1st October, bringing his sharp, literate songwriting and understated stage presence to one of London’s most intimate venues. Alongside his long-running role fronting cult indie outfit Randolph’s Leap, Ross has developed a reputation for songs that balance wit and vulnerability, weaving humour, melancholy and keen observation into vividly drawn narratives.

Over the past few years, he has worked with artists including C Duncan, Andrew Wasylyk and Jenny Sturgeon, with releases appearing on labels such as Lost Map Records, Olive Grove Records and Fence Records.

His third album, Bring On The Apathy, was recorded to tape using analogue methods, preserving the warmth and closeness that define his sound. The record highlights some of his most candid and finely crafted writing to date, further cementing his standing as one of Scotland’s most distinctive contemporary songwriters.

Adam Ross is a Scottish indie-folk songwriter. He is a solo artist and has also led the cult indie band Randolph’s Leap for over a decade. He is known for his unique brand of articulate lyricism which blends humour, poignancy, wordplay and offbeat stories. In recent years he has collaborated with C Duncan, Andrew Wasylyk and Jenny Sturgeon, releasing music via Fika Recordings, Pictish Trail’s Lost Map Records, Olive Grove and Fence Records.

Adam’s third album ‘Bring On The Apathy’ was recorded onto tape using analogue techniques, capturing the warmth, intimacy and personality of Adam’s music. It showcases some of the most emotionally open, lyrically deft and characterful songwriting so far from “one of Scotland’s most talented singers and songwriters” (Klof).

“Sheer class” – BBC Radio Scotland

“Charm and character to spare” – The Scotsman
“Ross’s storytelling and songwriting is still second to none” – The Skinny
“In a fair world, this literate, funny, humane album would cement his status as a national treasure.” – Klof
“The Scottish Father John Misty” – For The Rabbits
“Ross’ lyrics have often been described as “witty ” or “clever ” but this sells his talent a bit short; his words are incisive, insightful, astute, literary, informed, inventive and best-of-all relatable.” – Resound Online
