Tracks
This instrumental version of Mock Deer’s debut album highlights the extreme talents of the producer and musicians that play on the record, placing them in the foreground, enabling the listener to hear more clearly the Interesting structures and composition of the music,
It also highlights the influences and genres that are all in there, including Classical, Rock, Folk and electronic, which sometimes all find themselves in the same song.
The LP was recorded in Bath, UK, with producer Scott Fitzgerald, who was not only heavily involved in the arrangement/composition of the songs but also wrote and played all the bass and keys parts that you hear so clearly on this version.
Some of the real epic tracks really shine through here with songs like ‘Becoming’, ‘Fire in the Mountain’ and ‘Awake’ showing off their dynamism and atmospherics, whilst the gentler tracks like ‘Your Open Heart’, Solitude the Saviour and Twisted Forms are able to offer more of a zen/chill out vibe.
