“Beguling songs of love” – Mojo
Danny Green, aka Laish, is known for honest, self-reflective songs and stunning live performances. Danny possesses a distinctive, plaintive tenor which is deep, richly textured and affecting. Gentle fingerpicked acoustic ballads and robust art rock jams for relationships failed and survived.
Currently based in London, Danny Laish has had an impressive independent career performing both solo and with a full band. Prominent shows include some of the UK’s most prestigious venues including Union Chapel, Roundhouse and Barbican. Laish have toured extensively across UK and Europe and performed at festivals including End of the Road Festival and Cambridge Folk.
Radio support comes from BBC6 Music DJs Marc Riley, Tom Ravenscroft, Gideon Coe, Chris Hawkins, The Late Junction and Roddy Hart at BBC Scotland. Also Dani Charlton at Amazing Radio, Chris T-T at Totally Radio, The Waiting Room and L’Attimo Fuggente.
Tom Lockett is the former frontman and songwriter of sixties psych revivalists, Electroshock Therapy.
Inspired by writers and poets such as Hermann Hesse, George Orwell and Allen Ginsberg, and with musical
influences ranging from Woody Guthrie to Ravi Shankar, Tom Lockett combines Great Depression style folk, with the sounds of blues, jazz, and ‘The Summer of Love’.
