Self-produced musician, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Yellowitz takes acoustic roots to new levels with his dark ambient production style. Since the release of his first demo Blue Light, Benjamin has performed extensively across the UK and Europe. His reputation has been pushed further by the backing from highly respected acts such as Ben Howard, Fink and Coldplay.
Although his first demo was only released in 2013, Yellowitz is no stranger to the world of music. He was briefly taught by soulful songstress Laura Mvula and at the age of 17 was performing as a professional musician, drumming for Tru-Thoughts singer Lizzy Parks. These younger years led him to support acts such as Bonobo and Norman Jay, playing on BBC Radio 6 live for Craig Charles.
If the past is anything to go by, the future for Benjamin Yellowitz is promising. His eclectic style is hard to pigeonhole, but his recordings and live performances are only strengthened by an independent sound that delivers a new approach to the solo act.
“London based Singer/Songwriter Andrew Butler has been compared to legends such as Roy Orbison, Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen but who is still undoubtedly original. His songs are timeless but contemporary due to Andrew’s ability to see classic themes of love, life and death from his own unique macabre perspective”
“Andrew Butler is one talented man” – For Folk’s Sake
“Andrew’s music is delicate, but not fragile, soft, yet powerful and joyous” – The Blue Walrus
“Andrew is like a male Nina Simone” – We Come Alive
